Melnica South

Melnica is a small bay on the western side of the island of Pag. It should not be confused with the bay of the same name, which is 2.5 nmi northwest near Jakisnica. Sea depths in the bay are between 1 and 5 m. There is a shallow in the middle of the bay, where the depth is only 1 m. If we have a vessel with a draft of more than 0.5 m, anchor in front of the shoal. The bottom in the bay is sandy and holds the anchor well. The bay is poorly protected from the winds. It offers protection only against easterners. The bay is also suitable for overnight stay in good weather. Most vessels will leave it in the late afternoon. There are no services in the bay. The nearest inn, shop and gas station are in Novalja, which is 3.5 nmi away.
