Sakarun anchorage is in the northwestern part of Dugi otok, south of Veli Rat. The beach in the bay is considered one of the most beautiful natural sandy beaches in Croatia and one of the most beautiful in the world. The beach is protected by a fence. The bottom of the bay is sandy, in places overgrown with grass. Mooring buoys are installed in the bay. The bay offers good protection from all but the southerly winds. A concession has been granted for the bay. It is necessary to pay for the mooring to the buoy. In the case of a southerly wind, we recommend mooring in Pantera bay, Veli Rat marina or Lučica bay. If you have time, you can visit the Veli Rat lighthouse. The lighthouse is 3 nmi (5.5 km) down the road.
