Pupnatska Luka

Pupnatska luka is a bay on the southern side of the island of Korčila. The bay is well protected from all winds except the south. A strong mistral (NW wind) blowing from west to east in Lastovo channel causes smaller waves in the bay (see pictures). Depths in the bay range from 2 m in the north to 30 m in the south. The bottom is sandy, but towards the coast it is rocky. The anchor holds well in the sandy part. There is a popular sandy beach in the bay. In the summer, a tavern and a bar operate in the bay. The nearest shop is in Žitna, which is only 3 nmi to the west. The nearest gas station is in the town of Korčula in the northeast of the island, which is 14 nmi by boat.
