Makarska is an extremely popular tourist town. The vessel can be moored sideways to the coast in the harbor, on the south side of the eastern pier and the inner side of the eastern breakwater. Mooring is possible wherever regular lines connecting the islands and the mainland do not dock. The moorings are equipped with water and electricity connections. Garbage collection is organized. There is a gas station in the far NW part of the harbor, and nearby there are shops, taverns, bars, a bank, and a market. There is always a lot of maritime traffic in the harbor and therefore always a lot of waves. When mooring sideways, be careful to install enough fenders, as vessels in the harbor constantly cause waves. The harbor is well protected from the bora, which can blow strongly, but does not cause waves. South and west winds in the harbor cause high waves. In this case, only the part behind the southern breakwater is suitable for mooring.
