About
Paklina is a bay on the western side of the famous Veli Rat cape on the island of Brač. The bay is protected from eastern and northern winds. The Maestral (NW wind), which blows from the west through the Hvar Channel (the channel between the islands of Brač and Hvar), causes waves in the afternoon that exceed 1 m in height and anchoring is not comfortable. The bottom is sandy and in parts overgrown with sea grass. Since a protective beach fence has been erected around Cape Veli Rat, anchoring is required at depths exceeding 10 m. No concession has been granted for the bay. There is no charge for anchoring on your own anchor. The nearest restaurants are on Cape Veli Rat, and the nearest gas station is in the port of Bol, which is 1.5 nmi away.
