About
Stračunćica is a bay in the northern part of the island of Korčula in front of the Gradina anchorage and the port of Vela Luka. The bay is well protected from all winds except the south. It is also well protected against the waves brought to the bay by the mistral, which blows from the west in this part of the island. It is more peaceful to spend the night than Gradina Bay, where waves caused by the mistral on the open sea come all night. Depths in the bay are between 2 and 20 m. The northern part of the bay is most suitable for anchoring, where the depths are between 2 and 10 m. The bottom is sandy and the anchor holds well. The coast is rocky, so we will easily find a suitable place to moor the stern.
