Unije

The Unije anchorage is located on the western side of the island of Unije. Anchoring is possible in the area extending from Cape Art and the islet of Školjič to the port of Unije. Depths range from 2 to 10 meters. The seabed is a mix of sand, rock, and seagrass. The anchor holds reliably in sandy areas but not on rocky or grassy bottoms. The bay is sheltered from southerly and easterly winds. Anchoring in the bay is not recommended during storms or strong *Bura* (northeasterly) winds; instead, head to the bays of Maračol, Podkujni, or Vognišča, which are protected from all winds except those from the south. Photograph No. 14 shows the approach of a weather front; if you observe a similar scene, leave the anchorage.
