Privlaka

Privlaka is a passage on the island of Lošinj and allows entry into the port of Mali Lošinj from the east. The passage opens every day at 9.00 and 18.00 except during a strong bora (NE wind). The passage is 5 m wide and 3 m deep. Priority in navigating the passage is given to vessels sailing from the port. When all vessels from the port have crossed the passage, vessels from the east (Lošinjski channel) can enter the port.

CAUTION

A strong current flows through the passage, exceeding the speed of 6 knots in a strong bora (NE wind). When sailing through the passage, we must sail at a speed that is at least 3 knots faster than the speed of the current. If there is strong bora and you plan to sail from the port to the Lošinj Channel, first make sure if you can sail. In the video you can see the voyage through the passage in a strong bora.
