Global Solo Challenge is a solo, non-stop, round the world regatta, which has been Matic Vrecko's dream to attend since 2024. He has dedicated his life to it and it's going very well. The sailboat Class40 Optimus Prime is an amazing offshore machine, a playground that challenges physically, mentally, emotionally and technically. There is so many ideas he has to make them sail faster. In the context of a round the world race, 400 days is a short time. Training, acquiring sponsors, practice races, mental and physical preparation, qualifying, building media presence, the final refit and much more has to fit in that time.
Optimus Prime is now in good racing form, ready to start Cannes - Malta and Rolex Middle Sea Race in October. There is a lot of excitement to go racing offshore after a long preparation period. November will be spent at home in the Adriatic, racing in Regatta Jabuka. There are some extraordinary plans for January, which will stay hidden a little longer.

Matic Vrečko's sailboat Optimus Prime is equipped with BlueCell lithium batteries. On board, it features one 170Ah BlueCell battery, while for the Global Solo Challenge regatta, two 314Ah BlueCell batteries will be installed, providing a total capacity of as much as 8 kWh. These batteries will ensure the uninterrupted operation of the autopilot, navigation, and communication equipment.
