The anchorage of Parja is on the north side of the island of Vis, west of the entrance to the port of Vis. The anchorage is well protected from all winds except the east side. We can anchor at depths between 2 and 10 m. The bottom is sandy and the anchor holds well. The extreme western part of the bay is shallow. Depth drops below 1 m. On the north side of the bay is an underground bunker in which warships and submarines were hidden during Yugoslavia era. The bunker is abandoned. Docking is possible sideways. South of Parja bay is a small port and Rogačič and two bays Svitnja Mala and Svitnja Vela. The nearest restaurant is in the fortress of Sv. Juraj, east of the bay, and there are more of them in the port of Vis, where there is also a gas station. There is no charge for anchoring in the bay.
