The Host lighthouse stands on the east side of the island of the same name in front of the entrance to the port of Vis. The stone lighthouse was built in 1873 and was named after an English naval officer. When sailing to the port of Vis, the lighthouse can be sailed on the east or west side. The depth of the sea between the island of Host and the island of Vis is over 30 m. If we are sailing into the port from the northwest, we must pay attention to the Voliči rocks, which is 0.7 nmi northwest of the lighthouse. If we are sailing from the northeast, we must pay attention to the Krava rocks, which is 0.6 nmi to the east. Rocks are marked with a lantern. In front of the square house stands an 11 m high lighthouse tower. The light is at an altitude of 21 m and emits a 0.5 second long flash of white light every 4 seconds. It is visible 8 nmi away.
