About
Banja Bay is on the north side of the island of Korčula, just 1 nmi west of the capital. The bay is protected from all winds except the north. We can anchor in the bay at depths between 2 and 18 m. The bottom is sandy and in parts overgrown with sea grass. The anchor holds well. In areas overgrown with sea grass, we have to be a little more careful when anchoring and make sure that the anchor has taken hold. There is an inn in the bay. The road leads to the town of Korčula, where there is a wide range of inns, shops and bars. Since the bay is well protected, it is also visited by cruise ships in the summer season, whose guests often make noise. Most of them leave the anchorage late in the afternoon or in the evening, when they head for the port of Korčula.
