The Stupica Vela anchorage is on the southwest side of the island of Žirje. The bay is well protected from all winds except the southeast. Buoys for mooring vessels are installed in the bay. The sea depths are between 2 and 40m. A concession has been granted for the anchorage, so a fee must be paid for mooring at the buoy. The concession has not been granted for the westernmost part, the Stupica bay, which has a fenced beach. We can anchor on our own anchor at depths between 3 and 8m. When sailing into the bay from the west, we must be careful of the shallows between the islands of Škrovada and Žirje, where the depth drops to 3.5m. When sailing from the east, we must be careful of the shallows of Rasohe between the islands of Mazirina and Žirje. The sea depth drops to 4m. There is a restaurant in the bay and food and drinks are delivered to the vessel in the morning and evening. The nearest gas station is in Vodice, which is 10 nmi away.
