Stupica Mala

The anchorage of Stupica Mala is on the southeastern side of the island of Žirje. The bay is well protected from all winds except the south. In the far northern part it is also partially protected from the south. The depths in the bay range from 2 m in the far northern part to 30 m in the southern part. There are 10 buoys in the northern part, and 4 in the southern part. In the case of a strong maestral, the southern buoys are exposed to strong winds and NW directions and waves from the SW direction that come into the bay from the open sea. There is no restaurant in the bay. The nearest one is in the Stupica Vela bay, which is barely 1 nmi to the west. Fresh bread, fruit, vegetables and other things are delivered daily by boat to the bay. A concession has been granted for the bay. Mooring to the buoy requires payment.

How to moor

The bay has a special way of mooring vessels. Two smaller two buoys are attached to the main buoy with a rope. You moor the vessel at the bow. One rope to the starboard and one to the port side. The mooring lines should be short (1-2 m). Smaller floats can be above the water surface (see photo 24).
